In Memoriam: Prof. Joseph Agbakoba

It is with great sadness that we report that Prof. Joseph Chukwuemeke Achike Agbakoba, Professor of Philosophy at the University of Nigeria, passed away on December 27th, 2025, at the age of 64. Joseph was an influential philosopher, political theorist, and scholar of African thought; the recipient of many awards and distinguished fellowships; and a founding member of IGVI’s Advisory Board.
