Prior to joining IGVI, Tully Rector was assistant professor in Philosophy of Law at Nijmegen, a postdoctoral researcher at Utrecht and FU Berlin, and a visiting scholar at Princeton. Tully received his PhD in philosophy from FU Berlin in 2019, with a dissertation on the structure of global injustice. Beyond political philosophy, his research interests include normative ethics, comparative philosophy, theory of action, and certain topics in the philosophy of religion. He holds an MA in classical Chinese studies, and before moving to Europe taught philosophy at Peking University. He has published in the Review of Social Economy, Critical Review of International Social and Political Philosophy, Cambridge Journal of Economics, Journal of Political Economy, and other venues. He is currently a Fellow at the Research Centre for State and Law at Nijmegen.
